Are my PDF files uploaded to a server?↓
No. All five tools read your file into browser memory and process it there using JavaScript libraries. Nothing is transmitted, stored, or logged — which matters when the document is a contract, a bank statement, or anything else you would not email to a stranger.
Which tool do I need?↓
Merge combines several PDFs into one. Split pulls out specific pages or ranges. Compress reduces the file size to get under an email or upload limit. Edit adds text, images, or annotations on top of existing pages. Rotate fixes pages that were scanned sideways or upside-down.
Will these tools reduce my PDF quality?↓
Merge, split, and rotate all copy pages across without re-rendering them, so text stays selectable and images stay sharp. Compress is the exception: it re-renders each page as an image to shrink the file, which flattens selectable text into a picture. Keep your original if you will need to edit or search it later.
Can I work with password-protected PDFs?↓
Not directly. An encrypted PDF has to be unlocked first — open it with the password in a PDF viewer and re-save it without protection, then these tools can read it.
Is there a file size limit?↓
There is no limit imposed by us, because there is no server doing the work. The practical ceiling is your device's available memory. Documents of a few hundred pages are fine on a normal laptop; very large scanned files may be slower on older phones.
Do these work on a phone or tablet?↓
Yes. Everything runs in any modern browser, including Safari on iPhone and Chrome on Android, and the interfaces are touch-friendly. Very large files are the one case where a desktop will handle things more comfortably.
